Does America's Immigration Policy Reflect American Values? | Karina Breceda | S3E10

Written by Dan Sally | Oct 6, 2022 10:09:00 AM

Karina Breceda has spent the last decade working with migrant mothers and children seeking to cross into the United States from Juaréz Mexico. Over the last 10 years, Karina has seen the nature of these migrants change from those crossing the border seeking temporary work, to those seeking permanent refuge from violence and the effects of climate change.

In this episode, Karina discusses her experience growing up with family on both sides of the border, the perils they face in Juaréz awaiting asylum in the United States, and how the United States has responded to what is a growing humanitarian crisis by militarizing the border and the agency that patrols it.
